On Saturday 21 May 2016 I had the great pleasure of giving a talk on The Feldenkrais Method to a packed audience at TEDx Sheffield. What is TEDx? Well, TED stands for Training, Education & Design and TEDx is a showcase for speakers presenting great, well-formed ideas in under 18 minutes. You can find out more here:https://www.ted.com/participate/organize-a-local-tedx-event/tedx-organizer-guide/speakers-program/what-is-a-tedx-talk
It was a great challenge to present some personal ideas around how I believe The Feldenkrais Method is so important for everyone’s quality of life and the 10 minutes went by very quickly! A full video of the event will be ready soon and I hope to put a copy on this website…watch this space!

New Video
The International Feldenkrais Federation has just produced a new introduction to Feldenkrais video. I think it’s rather lovely and explains what the class experience is like as well as reminded us about how we learn about movement – by reconnecting to what we once knew! Have a look at this link and let me know what you think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCM_C0Ly0Dc
TEDx Talk Today!
Today I will be giving a 10 minute talk about The Feldenkrais Method at the TEDx event in Sheffield. It’s been an interesting challenge to give a flavour on the many varied aspects of The Method to an unknown audience in a limited time. I’m going to be talking about habits, childhood exploration versus adult learning and…how learning to be a lizard can restore a sense of fun in life!
Happy Birthday to Moshe!
Today is the anniversary of Moshe Feldenkrais’ birthday and Feldenkrais practitioners all over the world will be holding special events and classes over the next few days. What is The Feldenkrais Method? Focusing on how the skeleton is the strength and support for all movement, Feldenkrais sessions encourage integrated movement by allowing a person to develop an awareness of the whole self.

Releasing Your Jaw, Neck and Shoulders
Workshop: Releasing Jaw, Neck and Shoulders. 10.30-12.30 Saturday 20 February 2016
199 Rustlings Road, Sheffield S11 7DA
We often have unconscious habits that produce unpleasant results – if you took a moment to discover how often you hold your breath and clench your jaw you might find how this affects your whole self. Through using The Feldenkrais Method to increase your self-awareness , you will learn how to reduce muscular tension and experience a greater freedom of movement in your neck and jaw. You’ll learn also how to connect the movement to your neck, back and pelvis, releasing tension throughout your entire self. This workshop can be particularly helpful to people who suffer from headaches and/or neck and shoulder discomfort.
